ALBERT GOLD X CADIT ENDLESS

Having trained at the British Academy of New Music in Stratford, London’s own Albert Gold has had a busy year. After the confessional ‘Don’t Let Me Go’, which was co-written with Sascha Skarbek, and the darker ‘Forbidden’, Gold is back with more material in the form of a future EP, which is due out in January. ‘Endless’ is the first track that we’ve heard from it, and it’s a glorious homage to the 90s, with Jamiroquai-style vocals and the funkiest bassline you’ll hear this side of Christmas. Comparatively to the Frank Ocean-esque ‘Forbidden’, ‘Endless’ has a much more uplifting and danceable beat to it. Perhaps this can be attributed to the track’s collaboration with Cadit, a 17-year-old producer from the UK who specialises in upbeat hip-hop grooves. Catch Albert Gold supporting Natalie McCool next Wednesday at Cargo London. - H.M
